This pilot fish is a patch-management specialist for his organization, although most of the actual patching is contracted out.
"Contractor deploys a patch that breaks one of our older applications," fish reports. "The contractor came back with an increasingly common refrain: Oh, how hard this is to fix, send more money.
"So I checked the contract, concluded this was included in what we already pay them for, and told the contractor, 'Just do it.'
"As soon as I told them to do it the hard way, contractor came back and said they have a much easier way to fix it..."
