This company is about to go through yet another reorganization -- which means yet another staff meeting to explain the reorg plan to employees, reports an IT pilot fish who's been through it all before.
"At the very start of the meeting, the person in charge stood up," fish says. "She began by saying, 'The intent of this meeting is not to honk anyone off.
"'However, I am completely sure that by the end of this meeting I will have honked off each and every one of you.
"'So I'd like to apologize right now...'"
SPECIAL NOTE FROM SHARKY: Regular Shark Tank visitors have probably noticed that Sharky's comments section is one of the most active at Computerworld.com, and includes dozens of reactions, insights and stories every day from readers. But we've just gotten word that all comment sections for Computerworld and its sister publications will be shutting down on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 16. We want to thank the many readers who have logged tens of thousands of comments to Sharky over the years, and we're hoping to find a place where the Tankizens can continue to congregate and comment. And in the meantime...
Sharky still needs your true tale of life. So send it to me at sharky@computerworld.com. You'll score a sharp Shark shirt if I use it. And don't forget, you can read thousands of great old tales in the Sharkives.
